Old Town 16' HW

Hi Eric,
Sounds like a great canoe. Old Town 12524 is a 16 foot CS (common sense or middle) grade HW (heavy water) canoe that was completed October 1909--May 1910, with red Western cedar planking, closed spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seat frames and a keel. Originally, it was New Haven green. It was shipped to Folsom Arms (a dealership) in NYC on June 4, 1910. This appears to jibe with the information you have on it, but if not, we can try again! This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. If you need any specific details to help with restoration, please don't hesitate to post questions. Others have restored canoes similar to yours and can help with suggestions, etc.
