Looking for info on this canoe. Rebuild was started before I go it. New canvas installed a number of years ago but stopped there.
Will post some pictures as soon as it warms up.
Thanks for the help.

The Old Town canoe with serial number 149924 is an 18 foot long, AA (or top) grade, guide model with red Western cedar planking open mahogany gunwales, a keel, and a floor rack. It was built between November, 1947 and May, 1948. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on June 8th, 1948 to Woods Hole, Mass. A scan showing this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Thanks Gary for taking the time to look this up for me.
Looks like its a about a year older than I am. Hope we both get to paddle many more lakes and streams.
It did come from the cape and interesting to know that MBL ordered it.
Will post some pictures of the finished boat.
Enjoy
