Old canadian wood canvas

Curious about Wooden Canoes
Found an interesting old 'barn ready' canoe in the shed of a former summer camp. It is of unknown age and not bears no readily identifiable markings. Years of heavy camp-use has led to repainting and varnishing by the looks of it, and replacement of the seats with solid boards.

Dimensions are:

16' long, single twart

32" wide

12" deep

Ribs: 1.5" wide, 3/8" thick, spaced 1 3/4" apart

Pics attached.

Any ideas what this might be?

Cheers,

- Nick.

...found the faintest ghost of a decal which appears to be the shield shape of the Canadian Canoe Company.

The deck shape, rib shapes, planking style(what you can see of it) and the end cant rib being thin and very wide all say Canadian. It's likely a Chestnut or Chestnut clone. What model it is will have to wait for someone a lot more knowledgeable than me. Just my 2 cents worth and at that you may be over paying. Good luck with your project.
