North House Wooden Boat Show

Thought you'd enjoy a little snapshot of a couple little Tom MacKenzie (Loon Works) built boats at last weekend's wooden boat show at North House Folk Art School in Grand Marais, MN. Many great boats on display, good company, and the chowder was excellent.

For the record, I believe they are both David Yost designs, the red one being a "bug" and the white (with nifty walnut sheer plank and a hand caned paddle thwart) a "button." Both coming in around 12' (and very very lightweight, not to mention superbly crafted).

The "button" is indeed Sue's. The Bug belongs to the Wisconsin Canoe Museum. They were able to get some display space close together. Fun to see.
