Newbie Question

I just purchase a 17' wood and canvas conoe. On the spine of teh boat both front and rear there is a serial #146625 17. I assume the 17 is the length. I do not see any other markings. Is it an Old Town? Thanks in advance for any help.

You probably have the Old Town canoe with serial number 146625 which is a 17 foot long, CS grade, Otca model with open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash trim, and a keel. It was built between September and December, 1946. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on January 28th, 1947 to Harrisburg, Penna.
