In the past I've used Affordable Boat Carriers (Florida) to ship canoes here and there and, although the pick-up/drop-off arrangements can be quirky, I've had generally satisfactory experience.
Recently I shipped a boat from Lake Placid to California with a new private carrier - KAS Transport (NY). The owner (and in this case the driver as well), Steve Skinner, was punctual, courteous and flexible about delivery times and locations. Prices are competitive with other private carriers. KAS provided first-rate service and I recommend it.
