loose canvas

I have an old Merimac 16 which I have recovered, and it went real nice ,untill today after drying for two months that I noticed a loose spot near the bow. It is about 10 inches in diameter. It was very humide when I did the canvas and is that the culprit? How can I get it in contact with the hull? Is it possible to restretch that area? I am getting ready to steam the outer parts at one time and need to correct this area before I can go on.HELP Thanks Grover Griffin

You could try pulling the staples along the gunnel and restretching.
