Interesting Sails

From a postcard. No idea of date but one canoe named "Pirate." Interesting sails. What is it? Canoes?

The one on the right has Bailey rig fore and aft, the one on the left, Improved Bailey rig. Classic rigs from the heyday of canoe sailing.

The mizzen on the right boat is reefed. At full sail they would be pretty similar to this Rushton set.
