Help identify wood canoe frame without planking

I have located this frame for sale for $125. The current owner says its about 15 ft long, but has no knowledge of its origin. Could someone please give any info possible. Is this frame factory by a good maker, or just a decent homemade frame from plans? It just looks like a good project to canvas and add nice long decks, etc.

I'm not an expert, but it looks to me like a frame for a skin-on-frame boat. Rather than planking and decks, this boat would have a fabric skin, fitted tightly to the frame. Search this forum for more info, or google Folbot... there are other manufacturers of SOF boats out there too.

Thank you very much. Each time I learn a little more, I realize how little I actually know about different small boats.

Not a Trailcraft for sure. Likely not a Folbot, too many longerons. It is a double kayak and not a canoe that is for sure. Had a sail once. Duckboards even, I'm impressed.. I'd guess it's worth the price if that is what you want.

Very similar to the skin on frame "Kittiwake" canoe plans shown in Percy Blandford's "Canoes and Canoeing" book. There were also many other plans available in various publications. Probably home built.
