LOVES Wooden Canoes
The Old Town canoe with serial number 62144 is an 18 foot long, AA (or top) grade, HW (Heavy Water) model with red Western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, mahogany decks, mahogany thwarts, mahogany seats, a keel, and a floor rack. It was built between July and September, 1920. The original exterior paint color was white with a red mahogany border stripe and a D W B monogram on the left bow and right stern. It was probably similar to the image at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-tow...s/design46.gif but with different colors. It shipped on October 7th, 1920 to Northhampton, Mass.
