Keep an eye on the Norumbega Chapter, Northeast Chapter and Delaware Valley Chapter - all are active (http://www.wcha.org/calendar-of-events/). The Delaware Valley Chapter has a "mini-assembly" in October.
There's the Maine Canoe Symposium, too: http://www.mainecanoesymposium.org/ though this year's run is already done. I've not been there, but it looks like quite an event.
If you're willing to travel a bit further, there's the Western PA Solo Canoe Rendezvous: http://www.wpascr.org/ though it's over for this year as well.
There is still time to participate in the Oquossoc Day's Little Wooden Boat Show and Wooden Canoe Sailing Race on August 17th as described at http://www.rangeleymaine.com/calendar/event/168 if you don't mind a scenic trip.
I am planning on attending Oquossoc Days and will be bringing several canoes. The organizers would really like to see the sailing canoe race grow. It is a fun low key event.
Well, Benson whooped us handily in the sailing canoe race again!! The Northeast Chapter was a big hit with their War Canoe Rides. A fun time was had by all.
The local newpaper has posted some photos with Northeast Chapter Members featured prominently. See here:
