Hello friends, I'm about to pick up quite the project for myself. I have found a very interesting wood and canvas canoe for free on Facebook marketplace and am heading to pick it up tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone had any info on this canoe before I pick it up, seems to have a very interesting design with the floor and all. I only have this one photo from Facebook marketplace, as I have not picked it up. I'm excited to get to work on my very own ship of Theseus!

I’d say it’s a home-built canoe. Likely made from purchased plans or plans in Popular Mechanics magazine and the like.
There is little or no following for this kind of canoe. However, it looks to be a worthy project and we can help if you have questions.

It looks like the planks are actually stringers, as on a skin-on-frame boat. They are constant width, which results in them being widely spaced in the center of the hull and closely spaced at the ends. Kind of like a homemade version of a Folbot. Very interesting!
