The 2024 theme is courting canoes, but all wooden canoes from all years are welcome, as are related boats including Adirondack guidebooks, St. Lawrence skiffs and others. Hundreds of wooden canoes from historic to modern, from all makers, and in a variety of construction styles and hull shapes will be on display and in use.
If you've been to Assembly, you know how much fun it is. If not, come for:
- great workshops and lectures
- on-water activities including sailing and paddling instruction
- paddling excursions on gorgeous lakes
- and fun with hundreds of your best friends in the wooden canoe world!
The annual auction, raffle, and fire sale tools event will include
- fabulous canoes, from very old to brand new!
- paddles and other canoeing accessories
- must-have woodworking tools
- books and art
- and much, much more
All proceeds from the auction, raffle, and tool sale benefit the WCHA. Otherwise Assembly is at cost - what it costs to attend is simply the cost required by our venue.
Bring the family! There will be lots of kids activities and fun things to do for everyone. The best lodging is right on campus among the hundreds of canoes and canoe lovers - you can stay in dorms overlooking all the activities or camp in the Paul Smith's forest. Accommodations can also be had in nearby Adirondack villages.
