1947 OT Square Stern oar lock 'keepers'

On to finishing the next progect does anyone know what the 'keepers' would have looked like or how they would have been attached to the oarlocks. I am referring to the chain or rope which was attached to the ring in the top portion of the oarlocks so they would not be lost in the water if they came out.

I have an example over in my storage unit. If no one else replies before this afternoon, I'll post a couple of pics later.
 
Most chains sold by S&T and Hamilton Marine etc. are not long enough for OT oarlocks. It might explain why I have 5 pairs of bases and only 1 pair of horns. I am sure you can find some sort of brass/ bronze chain online. Cheers Mike......
