I have a 1942 OT square stern that I am hoping to restore. The keelson had several places where it had rotted so I removed it to find that the hull was laid up with two-section ribs which met under the keelson. Is anyone familiar with this construction that could provide advice on how to best proceed? Thank you.

if It were in my shop, I would make a new keelson, or at least a temporary and keep going. As long as the keelson is out, clean the-area up and put a couple coats of varnish on what will be under the keelson when completed.
