There is a company in Rouyn-Noranda, QC called Fibres de verre Abitibi Ltée., that makes fiberglass boats. They had a line of cedar canvas canoes for a few years in the 1980s, about 1985-88. The forms were then sold to amerindians in Wemindji, QC who manufactured canoes for one more year or so.
I own and have restored a 16' Abitibi canoe. I got the above information through a phone call to the company after googling them up.
