Steel Canoe Tacks

I have to replace a few ribs in a HW that was built in '44 using steel everything including the canoe tacks. Anyone have a source for steel canoe tacks or a similar tack in steel so I don't have brass bling showing in the replacement ribs?

If the ribs are varnished after going in but before fastening, you could just dab the turned over points with a qtip soaked with gun blue or even brown.

There is also a product that railroad modellers use called 'Blacken-it". It is an instant tarnish. Micromark carries it.
