Any records for this boat? Just picked it up from a neighbor. It’s in nice condition shouldn’t need too much restoration. Thanks in advance!

Welcome and congratulations, the Old Town canoe with serial number 222878 is a 17 foot long Chipewyan Tripper model with aluminum inserts in the rails that weighed 80 pounds. It was built in September, 1978. The original exterior color was green. It shipped on December 29th, 1978 to Seattle, Washington. The back side of the card shows that it had some lines and soft spots inside the bow and stern. The warranty card was returned in May, 1979 from Bothell, Washington. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found below.
These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
