How to strip the interior?

On the latest project, a early 70's Tremblay, we have run into an issue with the interior. It would seem, that whomever did the repairs the last time, some good, some not so good, rather than varnish the interior, they used clear epoxy instead. Chemical stripper doesn't touch it. I know heat will work but most likely great damage will occur to the planking. This is not a high end boat and will be sold upon completion and at this point, it looks like I will have to just not refinish the interior at all. I do need to replace several "replacement ribs" which were not formed correctly in the first place.

Any ideas?

No, Andre, we aren't going to burn it. :p

If you aren't going to burn it perhaps a dual drum road compactor would suffice?

Have you tried Jasco Premium Paint and Epoxy remover? It is a gel. I used this on a canoe that had epoxy paint on the inside. I slathered it on, then covered the area with Saran wrap to allow it to cook without evaporating. It worked very well.
