Chestnut 17ft Y stern identification help please

Grizzle

One repair / restoration so far......
Having repaired just one cedar canvas canoe my friends assume I'm an expert ( I wish!)

I've been asked for advice about repairing a Chestnut Y stern and I'd be very grateful if anyone can help with its identity and likely age. I can find no marks on stems or wherever I'm afraid.

Photos are here: https://nessmuk-build.blogspot.com/2019 ... stern.html

Thanks

Chestnut did not commonly number their canoes and there are no detailed records of their canoes available so you don't have much to go on. Sorry,

Hey Grizzle!
Please see my reply over Canadian Canoe Routes

I think you have a Prospector Marsh model...
