Curious about Wooden Canoes
A friend has a wood and canvas dinghy in need of a good home and restoration. I posted this as an ad on "For Free," but couldn't see how to post photos there. There is my friend's description:
"Here are some pictures of the wood-canvas dinghy that I showed you the other day. I believe that it belonged to my grandfather, and served as a tender for the yawl "Avelinda," in which he and my grandmother cruised the Maine waters between the 930's and the 1970's. As you can see, she's showing her age, but is beautifully made with lovely lines, and she might clean up really pretty. She's in need of a new outside port gunwale and will need to be re-canvassed to make her tight. She's just over nine feet long long, with a four-foot beam.
"Let me know if you conjure up any interest."
