Oldest saleman's model extant?

Rob Stevens

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
I bought this from a woman who got it in Quebec, and has been using it as a "bread basket" on her harvest table. Then she found something else to serve that purpose, so sold this to me, "for a lot less than she paid".
It is basswood; 49" long, 11.5" wide and 5" deep.
I will bring it to Assembly for the panel presentation & discussion on scale models, miniatures and salesman's samples.

I've seen similar things that weren't canoes.... What makes you think this is a canoe model??
Food preparation or serving comes to mind when I look at it.

I posted that with tongue firmly in cheek. Just trying to drum up discussion in anticipation of the Assembly session.
