Good morning, currently renovating a fiberglass canoe with wood trim & accessories. Serial #rvfn3g0471082 and curious if anyone can define its age & history with that information. Thank you. Al

Welcome, the RVF indicates that it could be from Riverside Associates in Francestown, New Hampshire as described at https://uscgboating.org/content/manufacturers-identification-detail.php?id=11295 in the Coast Guard database. The 82 on the end may mean that it was built in 1982 if they followed the usual hull identification number format as described at https://www.boatsafe.com/hull-id-numbers/ in more detail. The information at https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120228174841AAqVGYt says that they "manufactured Canoes from July 1977 till April 1990. When they went out of Business." There may not be any more information available. Sorry,

Benson

I’m actually in the midst of restoring a very similar canoe, it’s an Allagash as well. The RVF / Riverside is tied to the allagash canoe company which from what I’ve found from other forums was bought out by Stowe in the mid 80’s.

I’m assuming mine was from ‘83, has a non conforming HIN RVFN3G050D83. It’s a 13’ Allagash Guide, fiberglass. Finishing up work on the hull but still need to replace the rotting gunwales.

The “before” picture attached.
