A favourite Algonquin Trip

Alex Guthro

LOVES Wooden Canoes
Enter at access point #1 - Lake Kawawaymog to North Tea Lake to Biggar Lake to Three Mile Lake to Manitou lake, back into North Tea. 4 days 3 nights, its a nice loop.
Canoes were made by Albert Maw of Northland Canoes. They're cedar strip with a fibreglass coating. The brown one is 30+ years old, the clear one about 14 years old.

One of my favourite routes in Algonquin....first headed out that way on solo trips years ago while working nearby in wilderness based experiential program....loved to stay first night on island in North Tea and listen to loons calling from lake to lake....of course, North Tea is busy lake (I would tend to head out even years ago during mid-week)....and beauty of this route is that it gets you away from "traffic areas"
