Thompson deck/rail/stem interface

Hi All,

Does anyone have a good pic of how Thompson did their deck/rail/stem joint? I have a Thompson Ranger I am getting close to wrapping up. and I have no idea how it all went together. It has outside stems, so I have a wide inner stem.

Here are a couple, the frist one I pilfered off the web, so it is not mine, the second is a repair to a Ranger I did, last one is a finished deck off a new "Hiawatha". Thompson just drove steel finishing nails through the stem into the inwale joints. I use a stainless steel finishing screw instead.

Thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for. Not at all what I expected though! If left to my own devices, I probably would have done it like an Old Town.
