The Buckboard Trailer

You want a "beautiful boat conveyance" (R. Jagels) to transport your vintage canoe?

Build a buckboard trailer: hardwood, plumbing pipe, motorcycle wheels and wagon seat springs. According to the author, it will easily carry 200 lbs (can be beefed up for more) and be "softer" on a light boat than regular boat trailers. All the information needed is in the Woodenboat magazine (August 1991, number 101, p82-85): "The Buckboard Trailer, a wooden trailer for a wooden boat" by Richard Jagels. He based his design on a Herreshoff boat trailer at Mystic Seaport Museum.
