Replacing screws?

Curious about Wooden Canoes
When re-assembling a wood/canvas boat and replacing the original or new wood screws, do you use a particular product (thinking something similar to a Loctite) to insure the screws don't loosen or back-out over time? Thanks!

Thanks Peter! Was thinking about a silicone sealant or something along those lines. I've used the toothpick trick on other types of projects...thanks for the reminder.

Toothpick, dowel, shiskabob skewers....anything woody to take up space. Stick the end in a little Tite-BondIII, tap it in and clip it off... Repeat as necessary.

I don't do anything unless the screw doesn't get tight, then I do as above. I use dolfinite instead of lifecaulk for keels stem bands etc. I use bees wax on the screw for driving it into decks gunnels. match sticks are handy for this too.
