Would you please post the build record for Old Town model OTCA #167467-16. Originally green, the decks and inwales are made of spruce, outwales are mahogany. It appears to have been built after 1956, the last year OT used the two construction grades. I have the original bill of sale from a sporting goods store in Columbus, Ohio (May 1959). WOW! I wish I could buy a new OTCA today for $225.00.
Thanks to all who post on this forum. With your help I made it through my first W/C restoration. I especially want to thank Gil Cramer for all his help.

Hi Jeff--

These later build records are sometimes a disappointment because they don't contain as much detail as the earlier ones... you have more information on your canoe than the build record does! But here's your canoe's birth-info...

Old Town 167467 is a 16 foot Otca model finished from April to November of 1958. It was fitted with a keel and painted dark green, then shipped to the Outdoors Store in Columbus, Ohio on April 30, 1959.

Thanks Kathryn for all your help. This boat has had very good care for the last 50 years. Restoration included replacing planking, a cracked rib, new canvas, paint, varnish, gunwale splice, seats caned, and 50 hours labor... Is working on canoes labor?
