Possible Robertson

Restorers
An owner contacted me to help identify a canoe which he has. He said that the serial # is A231 35 16. "It also has a short double heart deck that I couldn't find a picture of anywhere on the internet. It is in fairly good condition with no ribs broken. the canvas needs to be redone and the planking at the top of the stem in in need of repair. It has closed gunnels and mahogany solid seats."

He sent the attached photos and we think that its a Robertson. What do others think?

The owner is Rob Allison 508-769-5790

Thanks, Dan

It could help to get a picture of the serial number as well. The script of the numbers was different among the builders.

I have attached a picture someone else prepared comparing short decks similar to yours.

Your's does look like a Robertson.

Yes, but not the same numbering system. Double strike and date included. I've had two of these with these decks and plank seats.
