My mother inlaw gave me a set of plans for an 16ft. Old Town Sailing canoe(hull #140837). The lines were taken off a canoe that her father owned. There are no cross sections or details of the sponsons. I would like to update the plans to include the sponsons. I would also like details about the original sailing rig.

There is a cross section of some sponson canoes shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/hull-x-s.gif from an old catalog. The information at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?t=969 has most of the details about old sailing rigs. I have an 18 foot long sponson canoe with a sailing rig near Portland, Maine as shown at http://forums.wcha.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=8099&d=1248028261 if you want to measure it.

I agree, the ends are square and rise up to follow the rail a bit more but you are close.
