Old Town Canoe, S/N 213365

You are in luck since I just scanned that record a few days ago and have the original box next to me now. The Old Town canoe with serial number 213365 which is a 15 foot long Chipewyan model that weighed 63 pounds when it was built in April of 1976. The original exterior color was blue. It shipped on April 30th, 1973 to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The back side of the card is blank which indicates that the warranty card was never returned by the first owner. A scan showing this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. This model was known as the Mini-Tripper in the 1975 catalog since it was a smaller version of the 17' 2" Tripper. It should also have a hull identification number on the starboard stern that begins with XTC. The page at http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm has more details about how to interpret these numbers. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
