Old Town Canoe 76109

Hello Ardelle,
Looks like quite a beautiful boat. 76109 is one of 3 boats all shipped at the same time (April 1923) to DN Walford of Pennsylvania Ave, Washington DC.
All three were 17' AA Grade Torpedo End models with mahogany gunwales, decks, seats and thwarts. Western cedar ribs and white cedar planking. The mahogany decks were 36" and 24" long (presume the longer deck in the front). 76109 was painted lemon and had painter rings installed. The other two boats were gray.
A copy of the build record for 76109 is attached.
Scans of approximately 210,000 records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. I have a 1998 Guide 16' 100th Anniversary Canoe, serial #631856. Do you have information on canoes of this genre? I would like to know how many were built and the value of it today. It has never been in the water! Thanks for any info you can give me.

Only the first 210,000 records were scanned as Mike mentioned below so you will need to send your serial number and $3 to the factory to get a copy of the build record. The address and other details are listed at http://www.wcha.org/identify.html if you want more information.
I don't know how many of these were built but you may find that there is not a huge demand for them today. More information about how to value and sell a wooden canoe can be found at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?t=57 although this is more focused on older canoes.
