The Old Town canoe with serial number 32598 is an 18 foot long, AA grade, Ideal model with red Western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, mahogany decks, mahogany trim, half ribs, a keel and outside stems. It was built between June and July, 1914. The original exterior paint color was auto grey. It shipped on July 7th, 1945 to Columbus, Ohio. This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. The long decks may have been added later since there is no mention of them on the build record. How long are your decks and can you attach a picture?
