The Old Town with serial number 187711 is a 15 foot long Trapper model with a keel. It was built in November, 1971. The original fiberglass exterior was left clear to show the natural wood. It shipped on November 22nd, 1971 to Nanuet, New York. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the thumbnail image attached below.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. Wow! Thant's amazing. Yep thats it, the 15 foot trapper. It still has a lot of its fiberglass. Two layers that are coming off pretty easy. This is very exciting. I really thought the canoe was originally canvas and then recovered in Fiberglass. Hm.. makes me wander what to recover it in...

Most here would suggest recovering with canvas. As it happens, an older thread dealing with the same question was just bumped alive by another person wondering about canvassing/glassing a trapper:
