Curious about Wooden Canoes
I thought it best to start a new thread to ask for help on a canoe identity crisis.

This was left for a friend and she asked for my help as she is not a paddler.

I took some measurements and pictures. It is 16' x 35" beam 12" depth. The bow is ~23" high.

The stem is 1" square.

I failed to take a picture of the decks.

Thank you for any advice.

The Squirrel Whisperer suggested l show the decks and look for serial numbers.

I did not see any serial numbers but will have to go back to check.

The first picture failed to launch.

Hi Joe,

The seat reminds me of a Richardson... but others here know the Canadian builders better than I. I'll post a Richardson deck, so you can compare.

Thank you Kathy. Here is another image of the bow seat.

The stern seat looked like a replacement.

I thought the rear thwart seemed close to the stern seat. It would have been difficult to kneel between the stern seat and thwart.
