Can anyone tell me what year my canoe was built? My dad had it built by Fred Reckards in the early 80's

The details at http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic_detail.aspx?id=RKP indicate that Fred Reckards was building canoes in Rockwood, Maine from March 16, 1981 until June 30, 2003. The list at http://wcha.org/legacypages/maine-list.htm and article at http://news.google.com/newspapers?n...4qtJAAAAIBAJ&sjid=cQ4NAAAAIBAJ&pg=1348,755490 indicates that he may have been building canoes for longer than that.
