Outwale dimentions

Curious about Wooden Canoes
I have a '41 OT yankee and was wondering if anyone can tell me what the outwale dimensions are? I have the inwales and think they might be the same but want to make sure. Also I someone has pictures of the seats I would be thankful.

The outwales on our '36 Yankee are 7/8" wide & 15/16" high, and ends taper. Photos are original seat and trimmed piece of original seat rails. Seat rails are 7/8" x 1 1/2".

Bevel?

If your inwale on the Yankee has a bevel, you may need to cut that on the outwale as well.

Outwale dimension

Here is a picture of the outwale from my 1939 Yankee. The size is 7/8" by 3/4". Its hard to get a good picture but I hope this helps. I made the new ones out of some pieces of 17' long cherry. I had to steam the ends about 4 times to get the upsweep correct. Thanks, Tom
