Thames river boat

LOVES Wooden Canoes
Met this local guy with a very old Thames River Boat. She takes on water, needs a good varnish job. He says it is only 1 of 2 known to exist of this manufacture. It's been in his family for a very long time. Had sails at one time and also some canvas covers for sleeping. Very cool boat.

Does anyone know who might be of help getting more information on it, or other English craft of this type?

WOW am i jealous of your scenery, what terrific backgrounds to paddle against. Hope it wouldnt be a very big sail, that looks tender for anything other than downwind, or maybe its just the angle of the photo.

Hey Andre, well the pictures might not tell the whole truth, it's 29 ft long. It was a river boat. It needs work to keep it in use. He has already given it to his 9 year old daughter. Only found a few references of the builder on old rowing club archives.

Come on out next summer and sail. Dillon reservoir is suppose to be one of the more difficult sailing lakes. If you take a dip you don't have much time to get out of the water. To do a paddle, best dawn till about 10 am. This time of year it can be glass all day.
