Water based paints

I am contemplating using a water based product called "Envirogard" as a final finish on a canvas canoe. This stuff claims to hang onto just about anything and is quite different than your typical exterior grade acrylics or waterbourne polys. I've used it years ago on fibreglass canoes with good results but at the recommendation of my boss at the time. I don't remember just how good the finish was compared to alkyd. I do not know how it holds up in use or how it may work on the more flexable surface of the canvas canoe. I expect the flexibility to be good but will it discolour with constant emersion? I currently use an acrylic based canvas filler and am looking for a more reliable bond to that than an alkyd can provide as well as a faster drying topcoat for those "get it out the door quick" situations.
Has anybody had any experience with this product?
