The Old Town canoe with serial number 148099 is a 16 foot long, AA (or top) grade, HW (Heavy Water) model with red western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, a keel, outside stems, a floor rack, and sponsons. It was built between April and May, 1947. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on June 3rd, 1947 to Dayton, Ohio. National Cash Register Old Town Canoe.

Thanks for the information. I was told the canoe was originally purchased by National Cash Recister or NCR for use in their private Old River Park. The canoe still has the old National Cash Register logo on the sides. Now I know for sure. Thanks again Dan
