Kennebec 17270

I am very sorry to be responding to this so late but it has been an exceptionally busy summer. The Kennebec canoe with serial number 17270 is an 18 foot long Kennebec model type A as shown on page 215 of volume three in the Kennebec ledgers. It was planked by Roy on June 9th, 1923. The canvas covering was put on by Tuttle on June 16th, 1923. Grant put on the first filler coat on June 16th, 1923 and the second filler coat on June 23rd, 1923. The rails were applied by Oakes on July 7th, 1923. The original color was medium green. It shipped to location "23-575" on July 6th, 1923. This location is probably an order number but we don't currently have enough information to identify it. (It also seems unlikely that it actually shipped the day before the rails were added so one of these is probably an error.)
