Old Town info

Howdy all -

I was just given an old town wood canvas canoe that needs repair. I had thought about glassing it and having a neat wide-stripper, but reading this forum I've decided to re-canvas it instead. So, I'd like some info on the canoe if its available. Old Town, 133292 10.

My guess is that your serial number is actually 133292 18. This would match the record for the Old Town canoe with serial number 133292 which is an 18 foot long, GS (Guide's Special) grade, Guide's model with white Maine cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash trim, half ribs, and a keel. It was built between August, 1941 and January, 1942. The original exterior paint color was G. S. (Guide's Special) green. It shipped on February 18th, 1942 to Boston, Massachusetts.
