mansfield canoe

i have bought a mansfield canoe in the uk the serial no is sne70106m801 can anyone give me any info on it please

The SNE prefix indicates a "Shallow Runner" boat as Paul mentioned previously. More information is available at http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic_detail.aspx?id=SNE which indicates that they were in business from 1994 to 2005. The information to decode your number at http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm indicates that your canoe was probably shipped in April of 1980 due to the "M80I" on the end. If the prefix is actually "SWE" then you probably have a Mansfield canoe from the Stowe Canoe Company as shown at http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic_detail.aspx?id=SWE that shows them as being in business from 1973 to 1991. There isn't much more that anyone here can tell you.
