What is it?

    I know what the canoe is... it’s a Detroit Belle Isle Special.....but I found this thing screwed under the port inwale just forward of the stern seat. It has a little crank handle but I can’t figure out what it was used for.

    Do you think that it might be an electric light switch with the wires missing?

    I think Benson is right. Used for a battery operated string of lights. Swing the lever to the left, it makes contact with the stud and voila! You got light!

    Good call guys. There was some kind of light on the bow.
