I just finished a great book on Beaufort and his wind scale (DEFINING THE WIND, by Scott Huler) -- and recommend it!
He mentions in the book a canoe sailor's Beaufort Scale. I located a copy of this scale on the 'net. The OPEN CANOE SAILING GROUP -- a British bunch -- has some other great stuff on their site.
