Square ender identification?

Here is an old square ender that a friend has that needs a little attention. I have not seen it in person so I can only attempt to guess at it's manufacture. It has hints of Old Town - the cute little drawer under the bow seat, the common style of bronze oar locks that OT used. There are no signs of serial numbers. The the sponson are minute compared to what I know of OT's and it lacks the keelson found on my 16' OT. It's sheer is plain which is also not uncommon for motorboats but it does have gunwale caps at the stern that look very much like what Kennebec applied to their bows. The stern seat configuration while simple, resembles the seat in an Wm. English motorboat catalog photo. I am aware that the manufactures did evolve their designs over the decades and the few bits of printed information I have is won't get me too far. Anybody have any guesses?

Length: 15' 2.5"
Beam: 47" at gunwales 52" including sponsons and rub rails
Beam at transom: 38.25"
