Quetico Wilderness

Birchbark CanoeingBuilder
Dave O's "Big Red" once again graced the pristine waters of the Quetico Wilderness. This year the 70+ year old Thompson was joined by a couple of birch bark canoes.
The Spirits were with us. We were rewarded with a bountiful harvest of fish for the pan; awesome views, no bugs other than a few no-seeums, sightings of moose & bear and favorable winds. It just doesn't get any better:cool:

Ferdy,

It's nice to see the beach at the Pines. Last time I was there it was under water! Nice fish too!

The water levels were 30+ inches low according to the pollen line on the rocks and boulders. This was our first time camping at The Pines. Couldn't believe the devastation of that wind storm that took all those Grandfather Red-pines down years back.

Ferdy and Dave,

Very nice, love the pics. (If you can't get there the next best thing is seeing other folks pics.)

Looks like another great trip.

Dan
