Question about Bastien Huron outer rails...

Can someone tell me whether the Bastien Huron's outer rails were rabbeted on the sides like Old Towns? I restored one a few years but have forgotten...

Hey Howie, I did one last year and this is the profile I used, sorry the photo is blurry. It was out of 3/4" x 1" ash stock which I dadoed out 1/2" high by 3/16" deep rabbet to fit over the planking and canvas. Hope this is what you were looking for?

Yes they are but they sit higher than the rib tops. They sit level with the small strip that is tacked to the inwale as planking goes up to top of planking (edit Ribs), so ribs tops are a bit recessed.
