The Old Town canoe with serial number 143262 is an 18 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, Otca model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, and a keel. It was built between November, 1945 and April, 1946. The original exterior paint color was bright red. It shipped on May 6th, 1946 to San Francisco, California. This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
