Does anyone know information about this Canoe? It is light pink, about 17 ft. Where can I get same color gelcoat to redo?

The Old Town canoe with serial number 191491 is a 14 foot long fiberglass Carleton model with a keel. It was built in September, 1972. The original exterior gelcoat color was red so the light pink you see now is probably the result of too much time in the sun. Ferro (http://www.ferro.com/) produced this gelcoat originally but yours sounds like it has faded quite a bit. It shipped on May 25th, 1973 to Westport, Conn. A scan showing this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. Thank you Benson. The boat Locker is still doing business nearby in Westport. I'm going to go down and see what they have to say about this canoe. Amazing that the record of this sale still exists.
It is 14 feet by the way. I misstated my first measurement of two and a third of my own wingspans, which is fact is about 14 feet. I just checked with an actual tape measure: fourteen feet as you said.
I will contribute to WCHA for sure, as soon as I get beyond my next house tax payment.
